ஜனாதிபதியினால் வழங்கப்படும் கட்டளைக்கமைய மாத்திரமே, பொலிஸ் திணைக்களம் செயற்படும் என பொலிஸ்மா அதிபர் பூஜித் ஜயசுந்தர தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

பொலிஸ் தலைமையகத்தில் இன்று இடம்பெற்ற ஊடக சந்திப்பில் கலந்து கொண்டபோதே இதனை தெரிவித்துள்ளார். தொடர்ந்து தெரிவிக்கையில்,

சட்டம், ஒழுங்கு அமைச்சராக ஜனாதிபதியே செயற்படுகின்றார். ஆகவே, ஜனாதிபதியினால் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ள வர்த்தமானிக்கு அமையவே பொலிஸார் செயற்படுகின்றார்கள்.

மேலும், சட்டம் ஒழுங்கு முன்னாள் அமைச்சர் விடுத்த எழுத்து மூல கோரிக்கையின் படி முன்னாள் பிரதமர் ரணிலின் பாதுகாப்பை அதிகரிக்க முடியாது எனவும் பொலிஸ்மா அதிபர் பூஜித் ஜயசுந்தர மேலும் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளார்.

Can’t provide Ministerial Security to ex Ministers: IGP

The Ministerial Security could not be provided to the ex-UNP Ministers despite their requests, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundera said in a news briefing held today.

He said that the Ministerial Security could only be provided on the recommendations of President Maithripala Sirisena and added it could not be provided based on requests made by Ministers or other officials.  

Several UNP MPs, including Nalin Bandara yesterday requested the Police Chief to provide them with Ministerial Security saying that they were still Ministers of the Government.
